Age and Leadership Behaviour: From the Perceptions of the Subordinates

The present paper aims to study impact of age on perceived leadership behaviour in information technology sector in India. Very scarce numbers of research are conducted in this area, especially when concerned with India. Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire, Form 6-S (MLQ-6S) was used for data collection. The obtained data was analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that age significantly impacts perceived passive-avoidant behaviour of leadership, also perceived transactional leadership is impacted by age, whereas no noticeable impact of age is found on perceived transformational leadership.
